Office Life Returns For New Team Member

Hi!

My name is Neil Dow and I have just joined the Commercial Team at AVC Immedia in their Aberdeen office. I am also based in Aberdeen, just 5 minutes from the office. It is fantastic to get back into an office environment after spending the past year and a half working from home. I have 15 years sales and business development experience and 10+ years working in the technology sector, and I am looking forward to bring my knowledge and expertise to the team.

I am only 1 week into joining AVC Immedia as their Business Development Executive and I am so excited to get out there and get started. I have had the opportunity to view some of the work created by AVC Immedia including some of the AV tech we supply and already my mind is blown, there is so much talent here.

Everyone that I have met so far has been so welcoming and helpful. I am looking forward to meeting the rest of the AVC Immedia Team.

My career in sales started as a fluke to be honest, I graduated from Gray’s School of Art with a Degree in Design for Industry and tried to “blag” a graphic design job for The Press & Journal at Aberdeen Journals. I was unsuccessful, however they offered me a role taking private classified ads… This was not what I wanted to do, but it got my foot in the door and I still thought I would be able to get on to the Graphic Design Team.

Within a month I was promoted to Entertainment Telesales, where I my sales career started and excelled! I won Telesales Advertiser of the month many times, Telesales Advertiser of the Year and eventually Advertising Executive of the year for the UK & Ireland at The Newspaper Society Awards.

I eventually decided to move on to a small local company, Autosonic where I started off as Sales Executive, then progressed up to Senior Sales Executive and finally Business Development Manager. I spent 10 ½ years at Autosonic but due to the pandemic I had to move on, which has led me to AVC Immedia.

Outside of work I enjoy snowboarding, amateur photography, walking my dog (named Barney) and my friend recently introduced me to Airsoft, which a little like paintball. Airsoft is great fun, it is good to get outside again, do some exercise and meet some new people, especially after the past 18 months or so.
