Friday 7th October is World Smile Day and what better way to celebrate then with music to make you beam from ear to ear! Here are the AVC Immedia Team’s favourite tracks, guaranteed to put a grin on their faces!!
Euan McMorrow – Content Director
Carly Rae Jepsen – Call Me Maybe
The sheer optimism that booms from the music and lyrics will ALWAYS put a smile on my face. I challenge anyone to listen to it and not come out happier than when they went in.
My Chemical Romance – Welcome To The Black Parade
Everything about this is so over the top including the joyousness. It’s starts slow before reaching the most awesome crescendo, it slaps you around the face and reminds you not to take everything so seriously.
Sophie Gellender - Marketing Executive
Happy songs for me include:
Hollow Coves – Blessings (it just makes you appreciate the simple things in life away from the hustle and bustle!)
Busted – Crashed the Wedding (I grew up with this song and knew every word when I was younger, I don’t think I fully appreciated what they were singing about but I loved the energy of it)
Deep Dish – Say Hello (Back in 2005 we traveled as a family up to the Isle of Skye to stay in my uncle’s croft. The whole way up we had the latest “Now That’s what I call Music” Album playing and this track was on it. It just gives me memories of the trip and makes me feel so happy!
Dario G – Sunchyme
Michaela Power – Presenter
Happy – Pharrell
Make Me Smile – Cockney Rebel
Anything by Isley Brothers or Aretha Franklin
Helen Warner – Client and Content Manager
SO many to choose from!
The Wannadies – You And Me Song

George Harrison – What Is Life
Zoe Parfit - Business Support Executive
Naz ft Lauryn Hill – If I ruled the world
Fleetwood Mac – Dreams
Womack & Womack – Teardrops

Holiday – Madonna
Summer holiday – Cliff Richard
Rocking all over the world – Status Quo
Gemma Chaloner – Business Support Manager
Like most, I love music because it brings back memories that are good (and bad) So for that reason, the songs that make me smile are usually ones that remind me of a special time.
Shake it out – Florence and the machine – I love her and this song, I find it very empowering. On a personal note: I remember listening to this straight after having my first baby scan and I couldn’t stop looking at the scan photo. I was so happy and proud after seeing my baby for the first time and this song takes me back to that special moment.
Rather be – Clean Bandit – This was number 1 around the time my son was born and I really liked it. The song sums that time up for me “when I am with you, there’s no place I’d rather be” This song is very special to me and always makes me smile.
Foundations – Kate Nash – This song makes me smile because I think the lyrics are genius and it will always be a favourite of mine.
Chris Kinch – IT & Networks Manager
This is going to be cheese-tastic but:
Mr Blobby
Couple of songs from team America spring to mind but slightly poor taste (if you know, you know!)
A comedy act that just makes you smile – Weird al Yankovic
