THE CORE VALUES OF AVC IMMEDIA
I’m the father of a sixteen-year-old, Sam. It’s important for me to model the way for him, just as my Dad did (and does) for me. I do my best always to act – and to be seen to be acting – with tolerance, honesty, trust, kindness, empathy, generosity, humour and patience. (That last one I can struggle with!) I find it easy to show these behaviours as I’m not pretending – this way of approaching the world is me.
In times of fake news and casual relationships with the truth, I am passionate about doing what I can to uphold and spread the values I was brought up with – the ones you see above. I apply this approach as CEO of AVC Immedia. Our core values are a statement of what we are and of the way that we do things; the values we have introduced to the business are those that are most important to me.
These values are:
AVC Immedia’s core values are a frame of reference that we adopt in every part of our business. They are a support mechanism in times of uncertainty or doubt as we know we can and should act in accordance with them. The culture they help create is, I hope, a kind and generous one, where colleagues are unique, individual adults, each trusted to make their own crucial contribution to the success of the business.
Over the next few weeks I’ll write further posts on each of the values. Each value has associated behaviours and actions, and I’ll explain what colleagues, clients and suppliers can expect to see us doing when we live our values. I’ll also set out why our core values are so important to the success of AVC Immedia. I’ll be back with another blog post next week.
In the meantime, please take a moment to reflect. What are your core values? What principles sum you up, that you try to live by every day? I would love to hear your thoughts!
