President of Mexico visit to Aberdeen
the brief

On a recent state visit in London, Mexican president Enrique Peña Nieto lined up a visit the North East of Scotland in order to sign a memorandum of understanding on collaboration in the energy sector. The visit was to show close co-ordination between the UK and Mexico on the issues of energy and climate change. Important figures from the UK government and oil industry joined President Nieto at Aberdeen’s Town House where the City Council had arranged presentations by industry experts and the actual document signing.

The initial enquiry from the City Council was for AVC Immedia to provide a PA system for the Town and Country Hall room where the Event was to take place. Through continuous collaboration and communication with the City Council, AVC were able to provide a more complete solution for the event to ensure the event ran seamlessly and professionally.

our solution

We provided a range of Audiovisual equipment for the visit as well as offering Event Management services in order to assist the smooth running of the event. The Town and County hall was equipped with a lectern, microphones and PA system, additional chairs and two sections of stage, one for the president’s address, the other to accommodate visiting press from the UK and Mexico. The press stage also housed a fully enclosed interpretation booth, the interpretation system was provide by AVC to ensure all guests and press had the ability to receive the President and other guest speakers in both English and Spanish.

Prior to the main address in the Town House a business seminar ran which AVC were able to assist through the use of an 80” LED screen, laptops and a click share system where delegates were able to instantly share content on the large screen. In addition, the third room AVC were able to deliver was an area established exclusively for the Mexican press where the President gave a second address via live satellite link to Mexico. Again AVC’s staging, lecterns, microphones and PA system were utilised in order to deliver an efficient, effective event. AVC also provided generators for the Mexican Press in both Aberdeen and London.

AVC staff were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable and had a positive attitude from the initial enquiry right through to the event itself. The products supplied were very high quality. All of my requests were delivered and many of these were last minute and to change existing plans. On the day of the event itself, the AVC staff present ensured their services ran without a problem. It was a real pleasure to work with AVC and I would be delighted to do so again.
